Q: I got a travel ban from a finance house. I don`t know if it`s a civil case, one advocate said to me it`s a Dubai court travel ban. My cheque is not bounced yet or they didn`t submit it yet, but I have a travel ban. Now I need to change my visa to another company. How can I do it? An employer refuses to issue the cancellation papers due to incomplete handover
Q: Dear Sir/Mam, After serving my 30 days notice in which I had sent multiple emails to the management for the handover and cancellation, I received the first reply from the management on the last day of the notice stating that I need to extend and the visa will be cancelled only if a satisfactory handover is done. I filed a labour complaint on 16th Feb and got a call from labour on 21st Feb stating that my visa cancellation and settlement will be done by 28th Feb as per the management and the labour complaint was closed. ON the 24th when I called the company if I need to come to sign the cancellation documents, they informed me that they won`t cancel my visa as my handover was not complete! I have filed a complaint again. Can handover be the basis of the non-cancellation as I had served my 30 days notice period and whose responsibility is in regards to handover, employee or employer? Can the legal advisor force the company to cancel my visa or is it mandatory to be transferred to the labour court? Questions & Answers

Q: Hi, I worked with a company for 2 years and 8 months under an unlimited contract. I was dismissed with a 1-month notice, however, there were no warning letters. I assume I am being laid off because of the current market condition. I would like to confirm if I am entitled to my gratuity as well as 3 months salary. Q: The requirement for Emarati Advocate to register Commercial Cassation at High Court. There is an existing old law that states that only a registered Emarati Lawyer can register a Cassation lawsuit at the High Court for the 3rd level of the litigation. However, recently I was informed that there was a new resolution that allows a litigant to register a cassation lawsuit without presenting the POA in favor of an Emarati Advocate. If this is true, can you inform the resolution number? Please confirm if current Civil procedures demand an Emarati Advocate for Cassation lawsuit, or has that requirement been removed and now litigants can register their own Cassation lawsuits just like they can register First Instance and Appeal Lawsuits.
