Labour rights of the employee in case of termination during probation
Q: If the employer terminates you during the probation period with immediate effect on the same day and makes you sign a notice of termination, is this right since it`s unlimited labour agreement? So for example, the termination happened on 23rd March immediately but then the notice shall be given 30 days before the last working day, how can the 23rd be the last working day? Is it possible to transfer money from personal account to company account?
Q: Hi there, I`m a new business owner in Dubai (Professional Consulting services - business consulting, startup consulting etc.), and I recently opened my business bank account. I know in order to get loans or credit cards, banks ask for bank statements... etc., and as I am just starting out there is not much revenue in my account. However, my personal account in Dubai does have money, and I was wondering if there is any downside to me transferring a set amount to my business bank account each month in order to build out my banking history. How to follow up with the procedures of a cancelled off-plan property
Q: Dear Lawyers, I purchased an off-plan property which has been cancelled and now in the first liquidation committee. My name was not in the investors` list since I bought from a buyer (secondary market). Anyway, I gave my details, copies of cheques and SPA to the committee to be included in the investors` list. Civil claim against a contractor for delay in house renovation
Q: Hello, My husband and I awarded one of Dubai`s contractors to do renovation in our apartment. We paid him 50% in advance according to the contract signed between us. We paid another 20% after some time in response to his request to have an additional amount to buy the materials. The renovation was supposed to be completed in one month, yet, 2 months and a half already passed and the contractor has not even bought the material he promised (tiles, sanitary-ware... etc.). He promises but not delivering, postponing payments in all possible ways. Suppliers of the materials confirmed that payments had not been made by the contractor. We have a clause of damage liquidating (contractor needs to pay 1000 AED/day), but he doesn`t seem to take it seriously. What is the best way to deal with this problem? The legal way of recovering money loaned to a friend
Q: I gave one of my friends AED 50,000 back in Aug 2019 as a "Friendly Loan", and he promised to give it back within 45 days as he was facing some financial issues which I helped him based on our previous relationship. I have from him a written letter with his name and signature stating that I gave him the money and he will return it within 45 days. The payment was delayed and I kept asking him when he can repay the money.
