Compensation towards arbitrary dismissal for redundancy
Q: Hello, I am currently employed at a Private British School under an unlimited contract. I was informed in March that there is not a job position for me in the next academic year and therefore I have been made redundant, however, I am to complete my contract up until August 2019. The deputy head asked me to hand in a letter of resignation to which I refused as I am not the one who wants to leave my employment. I was wondering due to the school making me redundant, am I entitled to 3 months additional salary once my contract is complete? Where can I find information on this? Thank you in advance.

Q: Hi, I am Z. A. My employer is not paying my salary for 3 months now plus another pending amount, and my contract is expiring on 8th May 2019. I got an offer letter from another company and I resigned from my job. Checking status after leaving Dubai with credit card outstanding
Q: I was a resident of Dubai around 10 years back, and during that time I had some credit card balances which I am paying monthly. Not in every month. I want to settle the debt, but before starting a negotiation with the bank I would like to know if there is a police case against me. Is it a good idea to try and apply for the police good conduct certificate? If there is any case, how will the certificate look like? Will I get the case details on the certificate or no certificate at all? Also, during that time I did not have any Emirates ID. Can I apply even without the Emirates ID?

Consequences of defaulting on paying loan installments
Q: Dear Sir, Need your advice. I took a loan of AED 64000 more than a year back and currently the outstanding amount is AED 51000, but as I don`t have a job now, I am unable to pay the rest. As I know from 2019, there is no imprisonment or criminal case, but if the bank files a civil case against me the fine will be around AED 5000 imposed upon me by the court. Currently, even I don`t have a single penny and I am struggling for daily expenses. Kindly let me know how much time will the court give me to pay the AED 5000 fine. What will be the consequences if I can`t pay the fine within 1 month or 2 months time? Also, let me know how I will be able to lift the travel ban if the bank imposes it on me somehow.Apr 22, 2019

Possibility of reducing the notice period upon resignation
Q: I am planning to resign from my current company in the UAE where I have worked for 6 years. My employment contract currently states that a notice period of 3 months is required. I would like to request that this be reduced to 1 month. Note that I got a job offer outside the UAE.
