A penalty for delayed payment of rental cheque
Q: I was late to pay my rent by 24 hours last month since I had a delay in salary payment but had the integrity to pay the money just a few hours after the cheque was bounced. Today, I am getting a notice from the landlord to pay a fine of AED 500. I just wish to know if it`s is legal according to the law.

Liability to pay the debts for a friend's loan
Q: I introduce my friend to my co-worker, my friend managed a restaurant before and she took a personal loan to my co-worker. She signed a paper that she has a loan and will pay it on a monthly basis. unfortunately, she got trouble in paying back. Now, this co-worker was running to me asking to pay my friend loan. Q: My husband and I are living in Wasl properties. One day when the inspection was carried out, our cousin was there at home. The Wasl guy took his ID and fined us AED 8000.00 for subleasing. Actually, the cousin is staying in a nearby bachelor accommodation but when we told them that, they asked us to prove the relationship in a week`s time. Bounced cheque case and settlement with the bank
Q: What should I do if a case has been filed against me for a bounced cheque? The bank is not agreeing to give me any settlement. I am also about to lose my job.
