Notice period for early termination of tenancy agreement

Hi,

I am a tenant and my tenancy agreement ends in July 2019.

However, due to some reasons, I have to vacate the place and make an early exit from the contract. My contract doesn't say anything regarding pre-exit

However, the annexure says 2 months notice. Am I obliged to pay for 2 months as the landlord is being very rude and not replying to my emails/messages or calls?

Dear Sir/ Madam,

Thanks for getting in touch with me on this.

I understand that your tenancy agreement annexure 2 states two months' notice, however, it is not clear if the two months' notice is for termination or something else.

Under any circumstances, you can send an official mail/letter to the landlord stating that you wish to terminate your agreement and request to return your pending rent and security cheque.

It is possible that the landlord may not accept this request of yours, in which case you will have to visit the Rental Dispute Committee and lodge a case against your landlord.

Be mindful of the cost and time involved in this and I suggest to amicably settle the issue, if possible.

Regards,

Hari Wadhwana
