What to do if the landlord asks for rent increase that exceeds the RERA Rental Index?
Q: Good afternoon, My tenancy contract is expiring on 31 May 2023 (90 days notice period starts 1st March 2023). My current rent is 175000/year. The RERA Rental Index is 150k - 190k for my townhouse. My landlord informed me a week ago that he wants to increase the rent to 240k as per ‘Market-value’, but as he is willing to negotiate he would accept 225k. My questions: 1) What are my options in this case? 2) What is the RERA ‘Offer and Deposit’ option? (Not sure what this is) 3) What can he do with a Rent Valuation Certificate? Thanks a lot!

What legal action can you take against a beauty center for bad face treatment?
Q: I was asked to help a friend find some representation, in an application of legal notice, against a beauty center in Dubai. XYZ attended a facial appointment mid-Sep 22 whereby she suffered quite nasty chemical burns across her face as she undertook professional treatment. Apologies were given at the time and XYZ was led to believe that this skin reaction/scarring was quite normal but, symptoms would elapse over a month or so. 9 weeks later and the burns are still present, considerably so, and much to her horror and disbelief. She is obviously very upset. I wonder if anyone in this forum has experience in such matters to help/advise her on the process to take court/legal action against the salon. This salon is clearly not following the correct procedure, and without further treatment to remove her scars, she now carries this for life. I look forward to a few notes (perhaps on past experience) and the pricing structure of your fees, please.

Can I claim my annual ticket allowance beside the repatriation ticket when I resign?

Returning to the UAE after leaving with a life ban due to overstaying
Q: Hi, I overstayed for a period of 5 months in Dubai. When I was going to immigration, I had a choice to pay a penalty or to leave the country for a life ban without paying. Refusal of the one-month notice period upon resignation. What to do?
