Q: Hi Sir, I am R.K.B. I got in contact with a real estate agent and he showed me a room in a building and asked for 1000 Dhs as a booking amount. The contractor does not deliver the renovation work as agreed. What to do?

Q: Dear sir/madam, I hired a contractor to do my villa renovation in Meadows, Dubai in April 2022. The contractor`s team is not technically sound, and everything has to be worked on a minimum of 2-3 times to make it right. There are structural defects in the workmanship of his team; for instance, the concrete pillar they made to support the structure was titled. His entire on-site team is illiterate (meaning they can`t read and write in English) including the project manager. My husband and I have been doing project management to keep things going for the past 4 months. Based on our contract, he has got more work within the Meadows community, and he pays no attention to our work now. Things have gone from bad to worse. The whole process has been delayed by more than 4 months. We are sick and tired of it. By the way, the contract that both parties signed is loosely written. What to do if the bank refuses to issue a clearance letter after paying all the dues?

Q: I have cleared my loan with a bank and was issued a no-liability letter to that effect. I took the letter to my HR to complete the salary transfer letter to my new bank. However, the liability letter was rejected by HR because it did not have my current account number on it. After going back to the bank I was told that I would have to close my credit card to have the bank account number appear on the letter. I have now closed my credit card, however, the bank has now informed me that they cannot reissue the liability letter for that account. I am now at the point where payroll amendments close next week, with no liability letter and an HR standing firm. This means default on my first payment with the new bank and no pay. What are my options?

Q: Good day, l used to have a credit card with a bank then l moved out of the UAE but continued paying although sometimes l delayed payments due to the transfers from one country to another. Then one time 5 years ago, l was in transit through Dubai airport, and l was arrested and detained for a whole night. But at the police station, they asked me to pay AED 20,000 if l wanted to be released from prison and continue with my journey. l asked family members to assist me. They paid the amount that was required and l was released. Only to find out when l got to my destination that the bank was still sending more emails for me to keep paying. From that time, l tried to inform them that l paid money to be released and the amount that l owed the bank was only AED 40,000. Now my question is: Will l have any issues again if l try to visit the UAE or just use it as a transit country?

Q: Hello Dear, My wife and son`s tourist visas got rejected. The sponsor (travel agency) told me it was because of security reasons. My wife never came to the UAE. I called 800 5111, They told me the rejection reason was that the full Arabic name was missing. So the agent was lying to me, I lost my son`s birthday on 24 Dec and time because of this.
