I did resign on March 10, 2018, and my head office based out in Abu Dhabi said your last date will be April 30, 2018, verbally. However, I do have resignation acceptance without mentioning any specific date. I'm on an unlimited contract. My labour card expired on May 9 and my visa got expired on May 24th. I had no response from the GM regarding my F&F settlement and visa cancellation. I waited and visited them personally but no response. So I launched a complaint on the 23rd of May 2018. My only question here is, can I cancel my visa and ask my wife to take over on the pending settlement? The reason is I have to travel on a family emergency to my home country. My query is regarding getting new employment visa (not 6 months' temporary work permit) during ongoing court case (heard that due to amendment 766 of the year 2016, this is possible). I have a new offer at hand, can I request from the court/MOHRE to cancel my visa & issue a new employment visa? Q: Hi, I have a labour case in Dubai Courts. The court has not issued a judgment yet and postponed the next hearing (date: 14 February 2019) which is beyond my visa expiry date (07 February 2019). The company owner has not attended the first 3 hearings, Now, he is away from the country and his trade license has not been renewed for the second term. My family visa (2 members) expires in August 2019. This Decree sets the rules and conditions for the termination of fixed-term (limited) or unlimited (not term-bound) employment contract between employer and worker in the United Arab Emirates.

The provisions of this Decree-Law, known as "New UAE Labor Law", govern labour relations in the private sector of the United Arab Emirates. The New Labor Law repeals the previous UAE Labor Law (Federal Law No. (8) of 1980).
