What can I do if my Dubai mainland employer isn’t renewing my health insurance?

Dear Sir/ Ma’am,

I am writing to know what I should do if a Dubai mainland company is not renewing my medical health insurance.

I sent an email to the company as well, but they are not responding.

Please kindly advise!

Thanks!

Dear Questioner,

In Dubai, it is a legal requirement under DHA Law No. 11 of 2013 that all mainland employers provide valid and continuous health insurance coverage for their employees.

If your employer is not renewing your medical insurance and has failed to respond to your email, this is a violation of the law.

You may take the following steps:

1. File a complaint with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) through its official website. You can also call DHA at 800 342 for direct assistance.

2. Submit a labor complaint to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) via:

- MOHRE app

- Toll-free number: 800 60

- Website: [----------]

Your employer may face penalties for not complying with the mandatory health insurance regulations. We are ready to help you prepare and file the necessary complaint and follow up with the authorities to protect your rights.

Dear questioner,

File a complaint in MOHRE. As per labor laws, it is mandatory for the employer to provide insurance.

If you need further assistance, kindly share your WhatsApp number.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Under UAE labour law, it is the employer’s legal obligation to provide and renew medical health insurance for all employees.

If a Dubai mainland company fails to do so, it is considered a violation, and you have the right to file a complaint with MOHRE (Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation).

Hello,

As you are working for a mainland company in Dubai, your employer is legally obligated to provide you with medical health insurance.

If he fails to do so, you can file a complaint in Mohre. If you need further clarification, you may ask us.

Dear sir,

Thank you for your response!

I had called MOHRE to register a complaint against my company for not renewing medical insurance, but they said they are not registering this complaint and asked me to go to the civil court, Al Adheed service center.

I also went to the Al Adheed center, and they are asking me to register the complaint with MOHRE. Only if it is not resolved through MOHRE will they proceed.

So, what should I do in this case? Neither MOHRE nor the Al Adheed service center is accepting the complaint.

Thank you!

If MOHRE is not accepting your complaint, try to reach DHA. The DHA is the regulatory body responsible for health insurance in Dubai.

You can file a complaint with them regarding your employer's failure to renew your health insurance.

I also called DHA, but they are not registering this complaint. They also asked me to go to the Al Adheed service center.

Hello,

I hope you are doing well!

We understand that your employer - a Dubai mainland company - is not responding to your request to renew your medical health insurance.

Under UAE Labour Law, it is the employer’s legal obligation to provide and maintain health insurance for their employees, especially if they are under a valid work visa.

If the company fails to do so, you may have the right to file a labour complaint with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE). This can lead to penalties for the company and support in resolving the issue.

We understand your situation and can help you take the right steps to protect your rights.

We recommend booking a consultation with one of our lawyers to guide you through the legal process. We also offer a free 15-minute online consultation to understand your case better.
