A brand new car keeps breaking down. What should I do?
Hello,
I bought a brand new car. After 2 weeks, it completely shut down while driving. It got fixed. Then, a few weeks later, when driving on the highway, the whole car started to shake.
They have taken the car back in and are saying it will take 3–4 weeks to repair. I don’t trust the car and am not happy with the car dealership for selling me a car that clearly had faults.
What should I do?
Greetings,
If your brand-new car has persistent defects affecting safety and performance, you may have legal grounds for a replacement, refund, or compensation under UAE consumer protection laws.
Since the repair time is excessive and the vehicle has recurring issues, you can challenge the dealership’s liability.
To understand your legal options and take the right action, book a consultation with us today or authorize us to represent your case.
Let us know how you'd like to proceed.
Hello,
Your brand-new car should have a manufacturer's warranty. This warranty covers defects and repairs. It is very important to understand the terms of this warranty. Keep meticulous records of all incidents, repairs, and communication with the dealership.
This includes repair orders, emails, phone call logs, and any photos or videos of the car's malfunctions. If you seriously do not trust the dealership's mechanics, consider having the car inspected by an independent, certified mechanic.
This will give you concrete evidence of the vehicle's condition. If the car has a major defect, you may be able to demand a replacement.
In certain cases, you may be entitled to a refund. We will let you know the procedures to be undertaken in detail.
Kindly share your WhatsApp number to discuss this further.
Hello,
You can send a legal notice to the car dealership, demanding a replacement or refund based on repeated defects.
If no resolution is reached, you can consider filing a case in the UAE courts for breach of contract and compensation for damages.
