Defaulting on credit card payments and the possible penalty

Dear,

I would like to ask about my credit card debts with a bank. My cheque was with the Dubai branch and now they are threatening me to present the cheque in Sharjah.

So please, let me know what will be the position and how I can be bailed out.

Thanks

Dear Questioner,

You have not specified the cheque amount. In Dubai below 200k, there will be a fine and no jail term.

If it is in Sharjah, the chances of getting a jail term are higher. You may bail yourself by keeping your passport or by submitting anyone else's passport as your guarantor.

Thank you.

Of course, it is below 200K, but the point is the cheque was given in Dubai. How can they file the case in Sharjah?

And what's the difference between Dubai and Sharjah if I can be bailed out and get a fine as per the new law?
