Securing interests of a foreign company providing services in the UAE

Hi Ahmed,

I am from a digital marketing company and we are based in Singapore. We are delivering online sales/leads to clients in Dubai. If any client doesn't pay for the services, what can we do?

Also, I have seen that people are changing jobs frequently there. So, if the contact person also left the job, how can we proceed to recover the amount against invoices.

Looking for your advice.

Dear Questioner,

Thanks for your inquiry.

Basically, the best choice for you is to sign agreements with your clients in the UAE based on the UAE law and giving the jurisdiction to the UAE Courts, while having legal representation in the UAE so that your clients understand that you are not operating from abroad with no representation onshore.

Your contracts should always be drafted with the legal entity itself and not the professionals working for it to safeguard yourself from any high turnover of employees effect.

In case you would require any help in drafting or reviewing your service agreements with your UAE based clients, we can assist you.
