If my employer fails to process the cancellation, how long does DMCC take to handle it?

Dear Sir/Madam,

I've served a 30-day notice, and my employer is supposed to provide the cancellation and end-of-service (EOS) settlement on time.

However, if my employer fails to process the cancellation, how many days does the DMCC Authority typically take to handle the cancellation upon my request?

Additionally, how many days would you suggest I wait after completing the 30-day notice period before approaching the DMCC Freezone Authority, given that my next employer is already waiting?

Dear Questioner,

Wait a reasonable time (7-15 days) after your notice period.

This allows your employer some time to process the cancellation while minimizing inconvenience to your new employer.

Otherwise, contact DMCC sooner (3-5 days) after your notice period if you're concerned about delays with your employer.

If you need further clarification, you may contact me.

Dear Questioner,

The time taken by the DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre) Authority to process cancellation requests can vary based on their current workload and specific circumstances.

Typically, it's advisable to approach them promptly after your notice period ends to initiate the cancellation process.

However, as a best practice, you may want to wait for a few business days after completing the notice period before reaching out to the DMCC Authority, as this can allow your current employer time to complete the necessary procedures.

It's essential to ensure a smooth transition without unnecessary delays, especially if your next employer is waiting.

Always consider seeking professional advice to ensure a seamless transition between employments in the DMCC Freezone.
