Questions & Answers
Should I keep working after my 30-day notice if my company hasn't responded?
Dear Lawyers,
I submitted my resignation 30 days ago, but the company has not given any response and is not relieving me.
As per UAE labor law, am I supposed to continue even after notifying my employer and serving the notice period?
Good day,
After notifying the employer and the end of the notice period, do not work. Just get your labor rights and move to another company.

Dear Questioner,
Under UAE Labor Law, you are generally required to provide written notice to your employer within a window of 30-90 days before resigning, depending on your contract.
The law doesn't mandate a formal response from the employer upon receiving your resignation notice.
Send a follow-up email to your manager or HR department, politely inquiring about the status of your resignation and requesting confirmation of your last working day.
If they still don't respond clearly, you can consider contacting the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization.
If you need further clarification, kindly share your WhatsApp number.

You are not required to remain at work after submitting your resignation, but the amount of the notice period will be deducted if you leave work immediately without waiting for a month.

Dear Questioner,
According to UAE labor law, an employee is required to provide notice of resignation as stated in their employment contract.
The notice period can vary depending on the terms of the contract, but it is typically 30 days.
If you have already provided your notice and served the required notice period, then legally you are not obligated to continue working for the company.
However, it is important to ensure that you have followed the correct procedures for resignation and that your notice was provided in writing.
If the company has not responded or relieved you from your duties, you may consider speaking with your HR department or management to seek clarification on the situation.
If the company still insists on you continuing to work beyond the notice period, you may consider seeking legal advice or contacting the relevant labor authorities in the UAE for assistance.
It is always best to try and resolve any issues amicably with your employer before taking any further action.

You do not need a resignation acceptance letter.
Once you have worked through the notice period, you are free to leave, but you should contact the Ministry of Labor and share the resignation with them.
