2
Q: Hello,
It's been more than one year since all three bank accounts in Dubai were frozen suddenly without any notice.
When I started to inquire regarding it I got the answer that my bank accounts are frozen by the Central Bank of the UAE. Although accounts are debit-frozen only.
I had some heavy transactions in one of my accounts and there is a huge amount stuck in my bank accounts.
I am willing to hire a lawyer or consultant who can assist me in releasing the funds from my accounts.
I am currently out of the country but I still hold UAE residency.
Please let me know if anyone can help me with this.

What can I do if my bank account is frozen for purchasing illegal medication?
1
Q: Hello,
I have a question regarding the situation I am in. The court ordered the bank to have my account frozen as I am suspected of having used my funds to purchase prohibited substances (medications).
The final judgment isn't due. Will I be able to open a new account? or a new business account?
My current business accounts are operating without any freeze or issue. Would like to know to what extent I am banned from financing in the UAE.
Is the current freeze only on this one personal account? Or is it on me personally not allowing me to issue or operate anything until the judgment is final?
Also, for the frozen sum in the bank account, is there any chance that it will not be released?
I am not accused of reselling or selling or of any financial or illegal money activities.
I am accused of personal use of a prohibited medical substance and of purchasing the prohibited substance for personal use.

Can a bank freeze an account without any notice or communication?

2
Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
Can the bank freeze/restrict my account without any notice or communication?
Even when I reached out for the reason, they didn’t respond.
P.S. I don't have a loan, I don't have credit cards, I haven't changed jobs, and I've had the account since 2021 with almost identical transactions for the past three years.

Can the landlord freeze my bank account after a judge approved my payment plan?

1
Q: Hi,
I have a rental case in Sharjah, and I appealed for a 30% down payment and 6 installments. The Honorable Judge approved my request, and I have a copy of the order.
However, at the same time, the landlord approached the court and obtained another order to seize my bank accounts. My bank account is now frozen, and I can't receive my salary.
Is this proper procedure? Is it possible for two orders to be passed in a single case?
Can I request the landlord to withdraw the bank account freeze because I need to honor the 30% down payment judgment?
Kindly help with a solution.

Should I unblock the debtor to settle the bounced cheque, or is it risky?

1
Q: Good day,
I posted my case here about a bounced cheque. Now, the debtor has reached out, asking me to unblock him temporarily because his accounts have been frozen and his cars will be seized.
He said he would handle it from his side. He has a history of making excuses, but I want to get paid as soon as possible.
Should I just ignore it, as he did with my money, or is this temporary unblocking impossible, requiring me to go through the process again?

A bank has been restricting my account for 2 weeks now with no explanation: what can I do?

1
Q: Dear Lawyers,
It’s been two weeks since a bank restricted my account (Debit only) without any notification or warning. My account status shows as active though.
I have made countless calls, visited the branch 3 times, and raised a complaint (which was closed by the bank without resolving the issue) too but no response at all.
They give the same reply every time whether you call the helpline or visit the branch.
No one knows the reason why it’s restricted and every time it is the same reply: “Please wait, we have sent the reminder to the concerned department” from the last two weeks.
I have no cases, no liabilities to pay, and have evidence of all the transactions carried out on my account.
I just want to know what steps I can take to at least understand the reason behind the restrictions. It seems like the people working at that bank don’t even care.
It’s really depressing how they have been treating their customer for the last two weeks.

Dubai Court placed a hold on my account for another bank's case: what are my options?

1
Q: Hello,
I received an SMS and email from A bank stating that my bank account is on hold as per a Dubai Court order. I only have AED 2,000 left in my account, which is for my treatment and medication because I have breast cancer.
I lost my job last year and was unable to pay my personal loan installment with B bank. It was B bank that filed a case and a travel ban with Dubai Court.
But how can Dubai Court put a hold on my A bank account, even though the case is with another bank (B bank)?

What can I do if my company is pressuring me to sign an unfair new contract? 1
Dear Lawyers,
I joined a company in Dubai. According to the contract agreement given to me by the company, if I leave before the fixed contract period, I have to give two months' notice and pay a sum of 6000 dirhams.
I agreed to this and continued to work under that agreement. However, the company has now introduced a new contract agreement, and all employees are under pressure to sign it.
The new conditions state that no employee can take a similar job in the UAE and must agree to pay USD 3500 (AED 12600) upon leaving during the contract period.
What actions can I take regarding the unfairness of this situation?

Can I return to Dubai by paying only the court fine for a 2016 debt case? 1
Dear Sir,
I hope this message finds you well!
I am writing to seek your advice regarding a debt case filed in 2016 in the UAE. The debt amounts to approximately 45,000 AED (20,000 AED cheque amount and 25,000 AED credit card amount).
The associated interest has now possibly exceeded 150,000 AED. I have recently secured a job in Dubai and am eager to return; however, I am currently unable to pay the full debt amount.
I am aware of a court fine of 5,000 AED. I would like to understand if there is any possibility of returning to Dubai by paying only this court fine and lawyer fee.
Could you please advise on any available legal avenues or procedures that may allow me to resolve this matter and return to Dubai under these circumstances?
Your guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and assistance!
Best Regards,

What legal action can a company take to recover an amount from a non-paying customer? 0
Hello,
We are a building materials trading company based in the UAE. We supplied materials worth AED 50,000 to a customer around 8 months ago, but despite repeated follow-ups and reminders, no payment has been made to date.
We would appreciate guidance on the following:
1. What legal action can we take to recover the amount?
2. What documents should we have ready (e.g., delivery notes, invoice, emails)?
3. How long does the legal process typically take in the UAE for such cases?
4. Is there a recommended timeline or deadline after which legal steps should be initiated?
Thank you in advance for your advice!
