Sold my car, changed my mind – How to respond to the buyer?

Hi,

I made a deal to sell my car and upon inspection, the buyer paid the deposit to purchase and has applied for a loan using my car's chassis number.

I don’t want to sell the car as I have changed my decision. I will return the deposit he paid.

What is the best way to respond to him?

Dear Inquirer,

We are pleased to serve you and address your inquiries.

It is evident that the contract remains incomplete until the loan is secured from the bank.

You can mutually agree with the buyer to terminate the contract, but they may request reimbursement for any expenses accrued, such as inspection fees or advance payments made to the bank, which could involve non-reimbursable transaction costs.

Please contact us via email or call our offices in Dubai or Sharjah.

Dear Questioner,

I understand you've changed your mind about selling your car and want to return the deposit. Here's how to respond to the buyer in a professional and ethical manner:

- Acknowledge the situation:

Begin by expressing your regret: "I am writing to apologize..."

- Clearly state your change of heart:

"...Unfortunately, I have decided not to sell the car after all."

- Offer to return the deposit:

Inform the buyer you'll be returning the full deposit amount they paid.

- Mention the timeframe for the return:

"I will be promptly returning your deposit of [amount] within [number] business days."

- Be transparent (optional):

You can briefly explain your reason for changing your mind, but it's not mandatory.

Example: "I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

- Maintain a professional tone:

Use courteous language throughout your communication.

- Thank the buyer for their time and understanding.

For further inquiries about your topic, you can reach our office or contact us on WhatsApp or via email.

Dear questioner,

If you have any sale agreement with the other party, then we need to review the contract and plan for canceling the contract.

If you have no contracts for sale, then you can talk with the other party and discuss the cancellation of the transaction.
