Questions & Answers
Can I join a new company with a pending traffic accident case?
Dear Sir/Madam,
I have a traffic accident case in Dubai, but there is no prosecution, session, or judgment date yet. I got a new job.
Can the new company apply for a new visa for me and cancel my visa from my previous employer now?
Dear Questioner,
According to UAE law, a person's visa can only be canceled by their current employer.
If you have a new job, your new employer can apply for a new visa for you and your previous employer will have to cancel your current visa.
However, if you have a pending traffic accident case, it is important to inform your new employer about it and provide them with all the necessary details.
They may need to take certain precautions before applying for your visa, such as obtaining a clearance certificate from the police.
It is also important to note that if you are found guilty in the traffic accident case, it may affect your visa status and could lead to cancellation or revocation of your visa.
It is best to consult with a legal advisor for specific guidance on your case.
Dear Client,
Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will assist you in this matter.
UAE legislation restricts visa cancellations to current employers or the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs.
The GDRFA may not cancel your visa until your traffic accident case is finished. Your new employer can apply for a new visa for you, and the GDRFA will decide based on the circumstances.
Inform your new employer about the situation and offer any supporting documents.
