Questions & Answers
What can you do if your employment visa gets rejected after getting a job and resigning from old one?
Hello,
My son-in-law applied for a job in Abu Dhabi. He got the security clearance and was told by the company to quit his current job.
He even put a down payment for a flat and was ready to book the flights, and then he got an email telling him that his visa didn't go through.
Is this even possible and how true is this?
My son-in-law is Canadian.
Can you please help clarify the situation for us because we are a bit confused?
Thank you,
M.
Greetings,
According to UAE labor law, it is the responsibility of the employer to obtain a work visa for their employees.
If the company has informed your son-in-law that his visa did not go through, it is possible that there were some issues with the application or the company's sponsorship.
However, it is also possible that the company may have changed its mind about hiring him for the position.
It is important for your son-in-law to clarify the situation with the company and ask for a detailed explanation as to why his visa was not approved.
If he has already resigned from his current job and made arrangements to move to Abu Dhabi, he may be entitled to compensation from the company for any financial losses incurred.
