I want to file divorce from husband and I got threatened by him. How to protect myself legally?

I'm a Muslim expat who wants to file for divorce from my husband who is also a Muslim expat.

I tried before but he threatened to "destroy" me, so I got scared and stayed.

I want to ask family lawyers what have they seen revengeful husbands doing to ruin their wives' lives so that I can be prepared.

The law safeguards women from any harm caused by their husbands. If you ever experience threats or feel unsafe, promptly notify the authorities for immediate intervention.

In case your husband inflicts harm or poses threats, he will face prosecution with serious charges.

I think my question was not clear.

I meant to ask in what ways he can bother me legally.

He is pure evil, he will not shy away from filing false claims for example and I'll be the one facing prosecution.

Good day,

Actually, this is considered threatening behavior, which is punishable by law.

If you have any proof or evidence about it, or you were harmed or beaten or any type of action even in messages it can be used to obtain a restraining order against him and also can be used in the case of divorce as well.

You may contact me directly if you seek more clarifications.

Regards.
