Expired contract, employer holding cancellation. Can I leave?

Dear Sir/Madam,

My contract expired on December 22, and I gave a non-renewal notice on December 4. As per the employer's request, I worked until January 15.

After that, they are holding my cancellation. My visa is valid until the end of January. I need to go back to my home country for some medical purposes before January 19.

Is that possible, or if they do not allow it, what should I do?

Dear Questioner,

If you have already gone through all the termination procedures according to your contract, then there won't be any issue.

They don't have any rights to hold you or make any restrictions against you, moreover, your visa has already expired.

If you need further clarification, we will arrange a legal consultation session for a charge.

Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will assist you in this matter.

If your contract expired on December 22, and you've given non-renewal notice on December 4, it's vital to communicate with your employer about your urgent need to travel for medical reasons before January 19.

Request them to process your visa cancellation promptly.

Dear Questioner,

If you have served the notice period as mentioned in the contract upon resignation, you can leave your employer.

If your employer is unlawfully holding your cancellation, you can approach MOHRE.
