My labor card isn't submitted to MOHRE. What consequences could I face?

Hi,

I have been working in a company for more than 1 and a half years. They provided me with a visa, Emirates ID, and everything. Also, my offer letter has been submitted, and I got my work permit for 2 months initially.

However, now I checked the MOHRE app and found that my labor card has not been submitted until now. When I asked my colleagues, some of them are in the same situation.

What consequences might I face if caught by the government? Also, what can I do right now to submit my labor contract by the employer? If I file a complaint, will it be confidential?

Dear Client,

Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will assist you in this matter.

It's important to address the issue of the labor card promptly. Here are some steps you can consider:

1. Communicate with your employer:

Inform your employer about the discrepancy in the MOHRE app regarding your labor card. Request clarification on the status of your labor card and inquire about the delay.

2. Submit the Required documents:

If there is any missing documentation needed for the labor card, provide it to your employer promptly.

3. Follow Up:

Regularly follow up with your HR or the relevant department to ensure the necessary steps are taken to process your labor card.

4. Lodge a complaint:

If your employer does not address the issue, you can consider filing a complaint with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MOHRE).

Complaints can be submitted through the MOHRE website or through their Tasheel service centers.

5. Confidentiality of Complaints:

While the MOHRE typically treats complaints with confidentiality, it's advisable to confirm this directly with them or seek legal advice.

6. Legal Advice:

If the issue persists, consider consulting with a legal professional in the UAE to understand your rights and explore legal avenues.

7. Documentation:

Keep records of all communication with your employer, including emails, messages, or any other form of correspondence.

Regarding consequences, it's important to note that labor law violations can result in penalties for employers. However, the specific consequences can vary based on the circumstances. Consulting with a legal professional will provide you with guidance tailored to your situation.

We will be happy to help you.

Thanks and Regards,

ABDUL WAHIED
