The labor card is expired, and the employer refuses to pay the fine. What to do?

Hi,

I am working as a security guard in a private company. My labor card expired on January 16, 2022, but my visa and ID are valid until May 2024.

Can I cancel my visa, or should I complain to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) if my employer refuses to pay the fine for my expired labor card or renew it?

Please advise!

Dear Client,

Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will definitely assist you in this matter.

If your labor card has expired but your visa and Emirates ID are valid, first contact your employer to request a renewal or fine payment.

If they refuse, consult your HR department and consider filing a complaint with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE).

MOHRE can mediate and take action against your employer if necessary. Visa cancellation might be required for labor card renewal, but your employer should handle this process.

For any further legal assistance, you can WhatsApp us. We have an extensive team of knowledgeable and experienced lawyers to provide the legal assistance you need.

We will definitely be happy to help you.

Thanks & Regards,

Dear Questioner,

You can file a complaint before MOHRE mentioning the refusal of your employer to renew your labor card and for paying the fine.

If you need further clarification, we can arrange a legal consultation for a charge.

Dear Questioner,

You can communicate with the company officially, and if the response is useless to your case, you can also register a lawsuit in court.
