Company delays stamping a freelance visa. What to do?
Dear Sir/Madam,
I paid 6300 dirhams for a freelance visa. The medical process is complete, and the ID application has been submitted, but the company has not stamped it yet.
I have already overstayed for 40 days, incurring a fine of 2200 dirhams. The company keeps saying they will stamp it next week; I believe they are playing with me.
What should I do now?
Dear Questioner,
You are required to send a formal mail to the company asking a verbal assurance about the stamping date, request a written confirmation on company letterhead for your records, and clearly state your current situation in the mail.
Meanwhile, you are required to visit the nearest immigration office to check your visa status.
If there is no response from the part of the company regarding your claim, then you can file a complaint in GDRFA through the website.
Dear Client,
Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will assist you in this matter.
If your freelance visa application has been processed but not stamped, document all communication with the company regarding the delay.
Request a clear timeline for stamping, and express concerns about overstay fines. Contact the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) if necessary to resolve the issue promptly.
