What are the regulatory agencies in the UAE that oversee data compliance?

I am looking for information about the regulatory agencies in the UAE that oversee data compliance. Specifically, I am interested in agencies that deal with privacy, compliance, surveying, and security.

I am aware of the UAE Data Office, the DIFC Commissioner, and the ADGM Commissioner, but I would like to know if there are any other mandatory regulatory agencies that enterprises need to be aware of in Dubai and the UAE Mainland.

Thank you.

Apart from these Data Protection offices which are at the federal level and free zone levels, there are sector-specific agencies like the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), Health Data Regulatory Authority ( HPRA), Dubai Healthcare City Authority, Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC), Dubai Smart Government (DSG), etc.

Dear questioner,

Sure, here is a list of the relevant regulatory agencies in the UAE that oversee data compliance, including privacy, data protection, security, and surveillance:

UAE Mainland: Data Protection Authority (DPA), Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), and Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC).

At DIFC, the DIFC Authority is the regulatory body responsible for overseeing the DIFC, a financial-free zone in Dubai. The DIFC Authority has issued regulations on data security, privacy, and surveillance.

In addition to these mandatory regulatory agencies, there are a number of other organizations that provide guidance and support on data compliance in the UAE.

These include the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry or the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Please feel free to reach out to me by email if you have any further questions.

Dear Client,

Thanks for your question, I hope you are doing well. I will definitely assist you in this matter.

In addition to the UAE Data Office, the DIFC Commissioner for Data Protection, and the ADGM Commissioner for Data Protection, several other regulatory agencies oversee data compliance in the UAE.

These include the National Electronic Security Authority (NESA) for cybersecurity, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), the Central Bank of the UAE for financial data, the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) for financial markets, and various ministries and authorities such as the Ministry of Interior (MOI) and Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP).

Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC) and Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA) are also notable entities in the data security and compliance landscape.
