Questions & Answers
The debt collectors sent me a case number for a credit card debt but I could not find it. What to do?
Hi,
I have a card balance of AED 6k. Third-party collectors messaged me on behalf of the bank that they would initiate an execution case against me and forward it to the lawyers.
They even gave me the case number. I checked in Estafser and the Dubai Police App but the case number they gave me shows not valid.
How should I know if there is an active case against me?
And from whom should I receive the message legally?
Appreciate your advice
Dear Client,
Thanks for your question, I hope you are doing well. I will definitely assist you in this matter.
To verify the legitimacy of a debt collection case in the UAE, first, contact the bank directly to inquire about your outstanding balance and any legal actions taken against you.
Utilize official channels like Estafser and the Dubai Police app to validate the case number provided by third-party collectors.
If the case number is not valid, it raises doubts about their claims.
Seek legal advice from us, maintain records of communication with collectors, and consider sending a cease and desist letter if you believe you are being harassed or treated unlawfully.
For any further legal assistance, you can WhatsApp us. We have an extensive team of knowledgeable and experienced lawyers to provide the legal assistance you need.
We will definitely be happy to help you.
Thanks & Regards
ABDUL WAHIED
The case number provided by the third-party collectors should be a valid case number assigned by the Dubai Courts.
You can check the validity of the case number by visiting the Dubai Courts website or contacting the court directly.
If you are unable to check, please provide your WhatsApp number so we can check on your behalf.
