My brother is in jail for theft. What are the procedures and punishment of this charge?

My brother is in Naif police station in Dubai since 07/09/2023, and they have charged him with theft.

Please tell me when the court date will come for the first hearing and how long he will punished.

Is it true they really count one day as a two days?
