I got terminated for lodging a complaint about non-payment of salary. What to do?
Dear Team,
Good day!
Two days ago, I lodged a complaint with the legal team regarding the non-payment of my salary for the past four months. Yesterday, the legal team sent a mail to the company regarding this issue.
However, upon seeing this mail, my company terminated my employment, citing an unspecified reason. They also informed me that I should not come to the company starting tomorrow.
My question is, how can I fulfill my notice period of 30 days if I am not allowed to come to the company?
Additionally, they requested that I hand over the company laptop yesterday. I responded that I would surrender my laptop once I receive my outstanding salary.

Dear Questioner,
Under UAE law, an employee is entitled to a notice period of 30 days before their employment is terminated.
If the employer does not allow the employee to come to the company during this period, the employee is still entitled to receive their salary for the full 30 days.
The employer should also provide the employee with a written notice of termination, specifying the reason for the termination.
You can also complain to MOHRE that the employer terminated your contract as you complained about the pending salary.
Dear Client,
Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will definitely assist you in this matter.
Certainly, you can contact the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) in the UAE to address the non-payment of your salary and your employer's abrupt termination.
MOHRE can assist in labor disputes, including mediating between employees and employers.
It's essential to seek guidance from MOHRE to navigate your specific situation and understand your rights regarding the outstanding salary and termination.
