My question is: Our company had two partners, and we decided to close it a few months ago (certification of deregistration has already been obtained). There were not any special agreements (No cheques, letters, loans, etc.) whatsoever. After we closed everything, the other partner is claiming that he has lost money and is threatening to sue me. There were not any notifications or special conditions made before closing the company. Can he come back and ask for compensation for his loss? Q: My civil company has 2 partners. Both are 50% of the shares. Our company lost a court case and has to pay AED 200,000 to the creditor. The creditor started an execution case. Questions: A) Can I pay my 50% share (AED 100.000) and ask for my name to be cleared from the case (then the execution case will only be between the creditor and the other partner, for the remainder of AED 100.000)? Or that is not allowed while the civil company is still in existence? B) Is it possible to liquidate the company and then the execution lawsuit will be broken into two parts (Part 1: Creditor and partner 1 for AED 100,000, Part 2: Creditor and partner 2 for AED 100,000). Q: I am named a defendant in a RERA rental case for a commercial case. The tenancy is in the name of and signed by the local partner. The premise is used by the company in which I am one of the partners. At the time of leaving the premise, there were arrears on rent for which I issued PDCs from my personal checkbook. They bounced as I had difficulty in keeping up with the payments. Am I liable in this RERA case as one of the defendants when I am not the signatory on the tenancy nor the responsible manager of the company?

Q: Hello, I am a partner in a company, registered in SAIF Zone. My residence visa has expired in March 2020. I have submitted all relevant paperwork and payment to SAIF zone administration for visa and ID renewal in April but was refused with the said reason that there are some overstayed persons in the company, thus no visa can be processed. The grace period for visa renewal had been extended by the UAE govt. up to Aug 10. Meanwhile, SAIF Zone has started the legal proceedings against the company about some pending payments etc. and said this is another reason to not renew any visas. I asked them to cancel my residence visa but they refused with the said reason that they do not cancel visas of the partners of liable companies. So, now my stay in the UAE is illegal and I am not able either to renew or cancel my residence. My question: Is there any way to force the SAIF Zone administration to renew or cancel my residence?

Q: I am a shareholder in an LLC company in Dubai for which we (partners) decided to file liquidation because of the consequence of loss due to COVID 19. I wanted to know how my personal debts will be treated then? I have one personal loan from Deem finance of outstanding 60,000/- and 3 credit cards of a total outstanding amount 85,000/-. I have 6 missing installments of personal loan & credit card bills. I left the UAE about 7 months before but now I would like to clear my record. I need your suggestion to settle my debts.
