Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
During my work, I am supposed to wear safety glasses, but unfortunately, due to some reason, I removed them.
At that time, my supervisor took a picture of me with my face more visible and shared the photo in an email to safety personnel and other team members.
He took the photo without my consent. If a safety violation needs to be reported to the company, he can use the company surveillance cameras instead of taking a photo and sharing it with others.
He took the photo while standing in front of me, and he didn't even ask for my consent. I feel embarrassed about the photo.

Q: I am living with my family in a villa of 10 houses. I was cleaning my car in front of the villa, one of my neighbors took a picture of me with my wife and shared it with all the neighbors telling them not to clean cars outside the villa.
My wife is from Pakistan; she wears a hijab and covers her face all the time. This picture humiliates me and my wife in front of every neighbor.
Can I file a case against this man who took the picture without permission and humiliated my wife?

Can a school give parents the personal mobile numbers of teachers?

2
Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a teacher at a school in Dubai. Can my employer, the school, provide my personal mobile number to parents?
I am employed by the school, and the school has my phone number. But the school is forcing teachers to provide our personal numbers to ALL parents.
The parents are provided with teachers' school email addresses and educational platforms to message the teachers with any questions, but because the parents are lazy to email or learn how to use the platforms for messaging, the school is forcing us to provide our mobile numbers to parents.
Is it legally allowed for the school to force teachers to provide their personal phone numbers to ALL parents, who do not respect the teachers' privacy and message/call at non-working hours?
And then the school expects teachers to respond during non-working hours and weekends. MOST teachers do not want to provide their personal phone numbers.

View allIs it possible to quit a job before completing six months? 0
Dear Sir/Madam,
I work as a stockbroker at a company, but I want to quit because it is not a good job. I have been working there for over four months.
If I ask to leave, the company demands 5000 AED and insists that I complete six months before they agree to my resignation, otherwise, they will ask for the money.
What should I do?

The landlord wants to increase rent above RERA Index. How to renew my contract? 0
My landlord was asking for an unjustified rent increase of 9K, while the RERA calculator showed 3K. He was threatening to go through the Rent Valuation process, however, he only gave me a notice period of 83 days.
According to Dubai Decree No 43 of 2013 and Law No 33 of 2008, landlords are required to provide a 90-day notice period before making any changes to the rental contract, including increasing the rent amount.
Failure to comply with this notice period entitles the tenant to refuse the rent increase.
As the current contract is coming to an end by the end of next week, I have made several attempts to reach out to my landlord and his real estate agent to reiterate my interest in extending the contract and collecting the rental cheques at the old prices.
Also, I kindly requested that they provide me with the contract as soon as possible. Unfortunately, I have not received any response thus far, and considering that this week is a holiday week, I do not know what to do.
Sincerely,

Is the RERA Index Calculator the sole source for determining rent increases? 0
Dear Sir/Madam,
I reside in a Dubai community, and my tenancy renewal is approximately 95 days away.
The landlord is proposing a 15% rent increase, primarily based on rents listed on propertyfinder.ae, claiming that my current rent is 25% below market rates.
However, the RERA Rental Index indicates "no increase in the rental value" as my rent is at the top of the quoted range, prompting me to reject the proposed increase.
The real estate broker he hired at the time of my move-in recently contacted me, serving as an intermediary, mentioning that he would conduct a DLD valuation, likely resulting in a higher value.
However, he is attempting to negotiate first, considering the cost of around 2500 AED.
If we were to dispute, is the RERA Index Calculator the sole authoritative source for determining rent increases?
Additionally, if the DLD valuation is accepted, what is the potential maximum increase?

Can I put a financial guarantee to remove a travel ban in a rental case at RDC? 0
I used to work as a manager in a company, and my name was removed by the Dubai court of execution.
Now, on the paid rent, I got a travel ban, which I objected to at RDC.
The RDC accepted and gave the next hearing date, as I will have all the court papers.
Is there any way to remove the travel ban, as the objections I made at the execution hearing are next month, almost one month?
Is there any way you can put the amount as a deposit, and once the objection case is over, you can take it back?

My husband and I are Canadian Muslims and he passed away in the UAE. How to open an inheritance case? 0
Hi there,
My husband and I are Muslims. My husband passed away recently.
We have a Canadian will, but I understand that it won’t be honored as I am named the sole beneficiary, and that does not align with Sharia laws in the UAE. He was not a UAE resident but had a small apartment with no Will in the UAE.
We have 3 children. I am planning to go to Dubai to start an inheritance case. I don’t know the exact order of events and what needs to be done first.
1) Do I initiate anything from overseas before making travel plans to Dubai, or do I start once I arrive in Dubai?
Mind you, we cannot afford to stay in Dubai for too long, as the kids have school.
2) Do I need a lawyer, or can this be done by myself?
3) I understand all foreign documents need to be authenticated before presenting them to the court. But I don’t know at what stage I would need these documents authenticated.
I would appreciate it if you could provide a breakdown of the steps, the forms that are needed, and where I can find them.
Thank you

Can the employer ask me for visa expenses if I resign after completing the probation period? 0
I am working in a Dubai private company and I have completed six months of the probation period. Now, I have decided to resign due to a physical problem.
My MOHRE contract mentions one month's notice, and I am willing to serve the notice period, but the employer asks for visa expenses.
My passport was also retained by the employer. How can I cancel my visa by chance?
I filed a complaint at the labour court. How many days does it take to get a verdict?
