The financial obligations of a husband after a khula if he is in jail or jobless

Dear Sir/Madam,

I want to get a Khula divorce. My husband is in jail. Is he liable to pay the rent and other expenses?

If he is released, he will be jobless. Will he still be liable to pay alimony?

Under what circumstances can I take him to court if he fails to pay alimony?

Dear Questioner,

If he has any other source of income, you can ask for a fixed percentage of it.

If he is jobless and has nothing other than that, he is not obliged to pay the alimony.

Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will definitely assist you in this matter.

Before filing the Khula case, an appointment will be made with the family counselor. You have a chance to request for alimony.

Dear Questioner,

If there is khula, there is no alimony.

Alimony is for children only.
