Residency visa expiry while out of the country
My wife is pregnant, we left the UAE for vacation and now I know that she can't travel back due to some pregnancy complication and her visa expires on Jan 2019. She is on husband visa.
She wants to come after delivery. Please advise us, we are stuck now.
Dear Questioner,
Please note that in case your wife cannot enter the UAE before the expiry date of the visa, she will not be allowed to enter the UAE until she cancels the existing visa and obtains a new one.
This will require her presence for the medical test, the same of course applies for the renewal option. However, below are some solutions for your consideration:
1- Your wife can stay outside the country until the delivery date and enter afterwards through a tourist visa "This only works if you are from a country that gets a Tourist Visa on arrival".
2- You can cancel your wife's visa once you are back and re-apply for her visa together with the baby after the delivery.
3- You can wait till your wife is in better health conditions and she can enter for one week anytime before the visa expiry and apply for an early renewal for the residency visa renewal, then she can leave again for the delivery of the baby.
