Can I return back to the UAE if I left without proper visa cancellation?

I was a school teacher in Dubai from 2020 to 2021. I chose not to return after the summer for the remaining year of my contract.

I do not owe any money to the bank, but I did not pay a couple of utility bills and my former employer (the school) claimed I owed them money for breach of contract. I also did not cancel my residence visa.

I would like to return to Dubai on a tourist visa.

How could I find out if I would be stopped at immigration?

Dear Questioner,

If you leave the UAE without proper cancellation of visa, your employer may report you as an absconding person, which leads to a ban in the UAE.

We provide a pre-paid service to check for a travel ban which you may purchase if you would like to make sure that you can travel safely.

Don't hesitate to contact us for further assistance.

If you have left without canceling your visa, then your employer may have filed an absconding case against you. So there will be some consequences.
