Q: Dear Sir,
My name is S. Mohamed Raazith.
I have been working in Abu Dhabi for the past 1 year and 7 months, my visa is on an unlimited contract and my notice period is 1 month.
I got another offer from a company which is also in Abu Dhabi. I submitted my resignation on September 4, 2018.
Now, my company is saying that I need to wait until a replacement comes or complete the contract and go like that.
If I go to the Indian Consulate in Abu Dhabi, will they help? I need to join my new company as soon as possible.
Please advise me.

Obliging an employer to extend the notice period to handover work
3
Q: Dear madam,
I am working in a private firm as an accountant (sales executive in the visa). My labor contract is limited. It has already expired on 06 Jan 2020 and my visa expired on 24th Feb.
I submitted my non-renewal letter on 28th Dec 2019 through the mail. After that, my company requested me to work till the end of Jan. Then they requested me to work till the end of Feb.
A few days ago, they recruited a new person and ask me to work a few days more to handover the work to him, otherwise, they will file a case against me and hold my final settlement until the handover is over.
So what should I do?
Kindly advise me!
Please!

Can my free zone employer legally extend my 60-day notice period to 90 days despite my contract?

1
Q: Dear Sir,
I am working for a free zone company with a 60-day notice period in my contract. I am currently serving my notice period, but my employer claims that all employees have a 90-day notice period and is asking me to serve 90 days as well.
Is this legally correct, considering that I am not under a labor contract, as my company operates within a free zone?

Can my employer extend my notice period without my consent?

1
Q: Hello,
I am serving my notice period with my current employer, and the day after it ends, I am supposed to join the new company. However, my current employer is telling me they will extend the notice period due to pending work.
The reason I'm resigning is that I have to work 12-14 hours a day on a 9-hour shift, and there has also been mistreatment from the supervisor.
Can they extend my notice period without my approval?

Can my employer force me to serve an extra month after my resignation?

1
Q: Hello,
I am writing to clarify the situation regarding my resignation. I officially resigned on December 31st, 2024, and according to my understanding and the initial agreement, my notice period was to end on January 31st, 2025.
However, my contract was amended a few months ago to reflect a two-month notice period. I would like to emphasize that I have not signed this amendment, and the employer is blaming me for not signing the amended contract and will take action against me.
Please let me know how you would like to proceed, as I am eager to ensure a smooth transition and complete all required handover tasks within the original notice period.
I have already completed my notice period, but the employer is still forcing me to serve one more month, which I cannot do as I have another company to join on February 14th.
I can't afford to lose this opportunity. I am currently working in the aviation industry in Sharjah, and my visa is a freezone visa. Your prompt response will be highly appreciated.

View allTerminating an employee after sick leave and claiming compensation 0
Hello,
My employer fired me under Article 44 for not showing up for work for 7 days in a row. But that’s not the case at all. I was sick and the management was aware and they let me go.
I went to another country to get treatment because it’s expensive in Dubai. My employer did not pay me my salary for the month I worked and fired me.
I have official sick leave from another country and there is correspondence where my employer sent me to another country for treatment.
The problem is that the employer says that he will take compensation for the training that was specified in the contract, but I did not undergo training at all; I immediately started work from the first day of work and there was no training.
Does my employer have the right to charge me such a fee and not pay my salary?

Should the seller in Dubai hand over their tenant's security deposit to the buyer upon completing a sale?
Who is responsible for managing this process?
At the time of the exchange, the broker said he would follow up with the seller and collect the deposit.
He hasn’t, and the seller has not handed over the deposit.

How to cancel the MoU to buy an apartment with the broker if the bank did not approve the loan? 0
Hi,
I have a situation where I signed an MoU and gave my security deposit to the seller's agent. However later, the bank valuation of the property is lower than the selling price.
On my MoU, it has a clause that “the buyer has a right to cancel/negotiate if the bank valuation is not the same as MoU.” I tried to negotiate, however, we didn't agree on the price so I asked to cancel.
Now the agent is threatening me that they will not cancel the MoU and that will deposit my cheque. Later I also came to know that the person I am dealing with is not the same person whose name is mentioned as a broker in the MoU.
The agent I am dealing with is constantly messaging me with threats. I decided not to speak to him and instead, I wrote an email to the broker whose name is mentioned on the MoU but received no response.
I am on a very tight timeline as I need to vacate my apartment in 3 weeks, I found another unit but I don't know if I can pursue this while the initial MoU still not canceled.
Please, I need advice.
