Q: I am a UK passport holder. Can you assist me?
I worked in the UAE, Abu Dhabi. Two years ago, I lost my job and returned to the UK but I was unable to keep up payments on my loan and credit cards after my end of service money run out.
The banks started hounding me when I could not keep up payments and threatened to raise a civil case and a GCC travel ban.
I do not know if they went through with this or not and what the consequences would be if there are a travel ban and a civil case raised in the UAE or GCC countries.
I now have the chance of a job in Qatar and a chance to make some money again to try and pay off my debt in the UAE.
Can I enter Qatar?
Would I be arrested?
Am I at risk and should not take the job?
What are my options?
I can not start to pay back any UAE money until I get a job and start earning again.
Please advise!
Thanks!

Can I work in other GCC countries if I have unpaid bank debts in the UAE?

Q: Greeting!
My name is Fazil Hussain,
I was working in the UAE for past 5 years, I have a personal loan of 80,000 from ADCB Bank in Dubai. I never missed a single EMI to the bank and had good records. But I lost my job, so had to come back to India.
I wanted to go back to Dubai and search for a job but the bank said they have blocked my visa and I cannot get a job there. I replied to the bank by email that if they block my visa then how can I find a job in Dubai and how should I pay my outstanding balance on the personal loan. I can pay my loan only if I get a job in the UAE...
Please help me with your advice, I can pay the outstanding only if I work in GCC. I can't afford to pay from India. I want to pay my outstanding and clear it.
Can the bank give me NOC to work in Dubai and pay their loan? And I want to know, is it possible if I go to Saudi Arabia and do a job and pay my installments to the bank in the UAE?

What does Cabinet Resolution No. 1 of 2022 mean with exempting supervisory roles from the provisions of the Labour Law? 0
Dear colleagues,
According to Article 15 of Cabinet Resolution No. 1 of 2022 (“Executive Regulations”), employees occupying supervisory roles are exempt from the provisions of the Labour Law and the Executive Regulations in relation to maximum working hours only if they possess powers equivalent to those of the employer.
Could you please clarify what is meant by "if they possess powers equivalent to those of the employer"?
Currently, we have heads of departments who report to the directors. Will they be eligible for overtime?
Also, those who have a POA to sign contracts will they be eligible?
Or, those who temporarily replace the CEO while he is out, will they be eligible?

The public prosecution appealed a judgment to increase the fine I already paid. What do I do now? 0
Good afternoon,
Thank you for your time.
The public prosecution appealed my judgment (a fine that I satisfactorily cleared) and requested increasing the fine.
Can you please explain what happens during a criminal case appeal hearing for me as a defendant?
Will I be asked questions?
Is the hearing just for the Public Prosecution to present their appeal to the judge, and I do not need to give a response?
Thank you again for your time.

I purchased an apartment, but the previous landlord refuses to vacate. What to do? 0
Hello,
I bought an apartment, but the previous landlord is refusing to vacate it. The contract clearly states that the landlord should hand over the apartment on the day of the transfer.
Out of courtesy, I gave him three days to vacate so he could find a new place to stay, but the time has passed, and he is still refusing to vacate and hand it over.
What should I do in this case?
