Questions & Answers
Can a landlord raise the rent before lease renewal, and can we refuse?
We want to renew a rental agreement for the commercial estate. We informed the landlord 3 months prior to the expiry of the contract of our decision to renew.
Now, 2 months prior to the expiry date, the landlord informs us that he wants to increase the rent.
Can we refuse this increase?
Does the landlord have an opportunity not to renew the agreement with us if we refuse?

Good day,
Hope all is well.
The landlord has the right to increase it if he did an evaluation and it came higher than the current rent.
Additionally, he has a limit as per the court from 5 to 20% only from the current rent you are paying.
If you need further questions, please contact me.

You have the right to reject the increase because it did not meet the specified date and the contract is renewed without an increase.
