What should I do if I am unable to pay the overstay fine?

Hello,

I am a British citizen and have overstayed well over 6 months in Dubai now. I can’t afford to pay my fine to exit the country. I also don’t want an exit pass as that would mean a travel ban for life.

Are there any options for me?

Thank you!

Kind Regards,

Dear,

Kindly note that one can apply for an overstay fine reduction or waiver on the basis that they overstayed due to unpredictable circumstances and the decision is up to the GDRFA authority.

It is advisable to submit an application at immigration pleading your case and explaining why you overstayed and then you may be able to get a fine reduction.

Dear questioner,

In the event of overstay fines after the end of the visit period, we make a request to reduce the fines and settle the situation.

In this case, several procedures are needed, including submitting a new visit visa or a new job offer upon completion of the payment of fines after the reduction and amending the situation immediately to not calculate additional fines.

And finish it at the lowest possible cost.

How long do you think it will take to reduce the fine?
