Verbal termination of a limited employment contract

I am working for a travel agency. They told me orally you will be terminated, but till date, they didn't send any mail regarding termination.

So, when does my termination start and I know one month is a grace period? Can I return my emirates id?

And one more question, my company made a contract of 2 years. Now, I completed 9 months only. Can I get paid any amount (gratuity) while leaving?

Dear Sir,

Thank you for getting in touch with me in this.

Please note that you should not rely on such oral representation of your employer. Ask him to give you a letter of termination or send an email terminating you. Only then your notice period starts.

Further, they are supposed to pay you for arbitrary dismissal if the reason for termination is not valid.

You will be entitled to a gratuity only after one year of completing work. Since you have completed only 9 months, you will not be entitled.

I suggest you continue working till the time they terminate you in writing.

I trust you will find this in order. Feel free to get in touch with me in case of any query.

Thank you, Sir,

If they will terminate me, they remove my emirates id also?

How long can I stay in Dubai after termination?

What will the company give after termination in terms of money?

After termination, you will have to serve the notice perioda and then there will be a cancellation paper in which you have to sign.

When you sign on this paper, ensure that you have collected all your rightful dues, or else you will have to approach the Labour Dept. raising a complaint.

Upon that you can stay in Dubai for 30 days, after which you will have to travel back to your home country.

If I get another job within 30 days, is it possible to join it during the notice period?

The rightful dues mean how much amount I'll get?

No, you have to complete the notice period. If you fail to complete the notice period then the Employer may be eligible to claim from you.
