Q: I was jailed for 4 months for not being able to pay a loan from a Dubai bank since I've lost my job in 2011. After my release, I tried looking for a job but was unsuccessful, so I went back to my home country when my visa expired but still the bank is sending emails and threatening me and wants to collect money from me. Now that I am back here in Dubai, they threatened to file a ban against me and told me that I cannot get my visa renewed if I will not pay them. Can the bank do such THING? I already have accepted the punishment of serving jail time since during that time I didn't have a JOB and was totally broke. What can I do so that they will stop harassing me? What does the law say if someone had served the sentence for a bouncing check case? Thanks and hoping to be enlightened. 

Q: Hello, I have unpaid dues on a credit card with one bank (approximately 7000 AED) and a loan with another bank (approximately 28000 AED). Due to the pandemic, unfortunately, I was terminated from my work and thus had to return to my home country. I’m behind on payments for over 1 year to date. I’ve been born and raised in Dubai and would never want to have such a situation held in UAE, thus I’m willing to return back and pay everything within the least possible time. (I have a job offer with enough salary offered to settle dues within the least months). I would like to know if there is a chance that either of the banks may impose a travel ban on me.

Q: My husband was terminated from his previous job. He has found a job after 4 months. When he went to get his visa cancelled, he found out there is a civil case of AED 100,00 on him due to a bank loan default. Please advise, can he get his employment visa done and start his new job? I am afraid he will lose this offer if things don't move quickly. Please advise
