My tenant is due to move out of my apartment and he will delay it one week

Hello,

I need some advice.

My tenant is due to move out of my apartment at the end of this month as per the contact dates.

They are now saying that they need an extra week before vacating due to not being able to source movers.

It is my strong belief that they will be subletting for this additional week as this is what they did with the previous owner.

I want them out so I can move in asap. Please what are my options to get this done?

Have you given them a written email to vacate the house?

If not, kindly do so and insist that you want the place to be empty as per the contract.

Being unable to search for movers in a city like Dubai. It's a lie.

Kindly call or email us.

Yes, they have received written notification and agreed to the dates but have subsequently come back to say that it will be a week later.

If I approach the RDS, what realistically can I achieve?

Can’t I impose any fines? Can they literally move out when they feel like it?

Hi.

Pursuant to your query, did you serve the notary notice to the tenant to vacate?

If yes, he should vacate the premises before or on the expiry date of the contract.

Yes, but they are saying they will stay for a week longer and I want to know my rights.

They have no say over it, you can approach the RDC directly and complain about it if you have served them the notice and fulfilled all your legalities as per the law.

Is your apartment in Dubai?

Yes it’s in Dubai.

One week is not a big deal to take legal action against them.

Did you serve them a notice before 12 as per the law?
