How to get the passport after been released from jail?

Dear sir/madam,

I was coming on a visit visa, then someone got involved in a case, and I had to spend a lot of time in jail. Then after the sentence was over, they released me, but I still hadn't been given my passport.

What should I do in this situation? And what should I do to get my passport quickly?

I am afraid to go to court.
