A brother is in jail for drug use. What to do?
Hi,
I am an Indian. My brother is working in Sharjah. It has been 10 days we can't get any information about him. When we contacted the company, they said he was in jail for drug use.
Can you please suggest what we can do for him to come back to India?
We don't know the legal formalities. Can you please help us?

Kindly be informed that as per Federal Decree no. 30 of 2021, drug use in the UAE is a punishable offense and liable to a fine of AED 20,000 to AED 100,000 and a jail term of a minimum of three months up to 2 years depending upon the gravity and recurrence of the offense.
Whereas the possession of drugs for trafficking purposes is a graver offense and has more severe penal consequences.
