The refusal of annual vacation after 8 months of service

Hi,

I have completed 8 months in Dubai in my new company. I applied for my annual vacation and my boss said I can't take leave till I complete my 11 months in the company or meet my target for the year, is that a law in the UAE?

Please suggest!

Dear questioner,

You are entitled to annual leave as long as you have completed a period of 6 months of service with your employer.

Dear questioner,

As per the UAE Labor Law, once an employee completes 6 months, he will be entitled to 2 days per month of paid annual leave and if completed 12 months, then entitled to 30 days of paid annual leave.

This is assuming you are a full-time employee in a company and not working part-time.

Should you have any further questions, don't hesitate to contact us.
