Dear user,

In such a case, you may file a police complaint with all the details pertaining to the cheque in the jurisdiction where it was lost.

The Bearer may submit the complaint providing the details such as amount, bank, name of the drawee, and so on.

After that, the Police would submit the request to the relevant bank to stop payment of the cheque so that if it hasn't been cashed yet, the bank will not pay the cheque if it is to be deposited or cashed in the near future. This procedure is as per Article 625 of the Commercial Transaction Law of the UAE.

Should you have any further questions, do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Kind Regards,

KHA Advocates.

If you have a copy of the cheque, you have to file a police complaint to get evidence, and you have to do some procedures by the court to save your rights.
