Q: I was jailed for 4 months for not being able to pay a loan from a Dubai bank since I've lost my job in 2011.
After my release, I tried looking for a job but was unsuccessful, so I went back to my home country when my visa expired but still the bank is sending emails and threatening me and wants to collect money from me.
Now that I am back here in Dubai, they threatened to file a ban against me and told me that I cannot get my visa renewed if I will not pay them.
Can the bank do such THING? I already have accepted the punishment of serving jail time since during that time I didn't have a JOB and was totally broke. What can I do so that they will stop harassing me?
What does the law say if someone had served the sentence for a bouncing check case?
Thanks and hoping to be enlightened.

Bank loan issue

Q: I was working for Etihad Airways as cabin crew. I got fired last March so I couldn't pay my loan to the bank. I tried to find a job but I was not lucky.
However, when I came back home, a hotel in Dubai sent me an offer letter. But the bank sent me a notice about legal action. If I don't pay the last 4 months I will be facing a big problem with the court.
What should I do? Please advise.

Please, I need your help.
I had a loan from FGB bank. I almost paid instalments for three years. Now, I am not in that condition to pay. There are 3 instalments due and I am getting calls from the collection and they are about to file a case.
Could you please help me to know the penalty I may get, as my outstanding amount is just AED 24K?

Inability to pay a cheque amount after the issuance of an execution writ order
1
Q: Dear sir/madam,
My question relates to the new rules regarding the possibility of filing for "cheque execution" with the court.
What happens if, after the Execution Writ Order from the court, the person (issuer of the cheque) is not financially capable of paying the cheque amount nor does not have any assets (movable or immovable) to cover the amount of the cheque?
What will the consequences be in such an instance?

I believe that there is a similarity between medicine and law, and just as there is a way to ask a question to a doctor to get the most accurate and correct answers from him, which ultimately helps you receive the correct diagnosis, and therefore the correct treatment, there is a way to ask a lawyer.
