Asking an employee to resign in order not to pay for maternity leave

Dear sir/madam,

I am an employee in a company for almost 10 months already and I am 7 months pregnant. I am about to deliver, but my boss is asking me to resign because he will not pay for my maternity leave and I will not get anything.

What are my rights as an employee?

Dear questioner,

Don't resign and continue until you deliver.

You will get your dues.

He keeps on asking me to give my resignation letter, but what I sent him is a refusal letter of resignation.

Now he is ignoring me in the office; he is not giving me any work at all.

What is the best I can do, sir?

There is no problem if he ignores you or doesn't give you work. If he wants, he can terminate you, but don't resign.

If he delays your salary, register a complaint to MOHRE.

Okay, Sir!

Thank you so much for your help!

I will still come to the office. I will not resign.

God bless you!

Dear questioner,

You are entitled to maternity leave with half pay for a period of 45 days as long as you do not complete a year at work, and also for a leave of up to 100 days due to your illness without pay.
