Q: Hi Eman, I am K. R. D. C. G., currently live in Canada. I worked in UAE (Abu Dhabi & Ajman) from 2013 to 2016. I would like to request a police clearance certificate for immigration purposes (For Canadian Permanent Residence). I have tried twice online but have failed. In 2016, I had to go back to Sri Lanka due to my wife's medical situation (she was pregnant). I quit my job & left the UAE without informing my employer, banks, landlord... etc. & I never went back. I have my Expired Emirates ID with me. Please advise.

Q: I am an ex-resident in Dubai and been there for approximately 6.5 years. I left Dubai in Apr 2015 due to family reasons and haven't paid a loan and credit card. Now, if I need a police clearance certificate for me, will that certificate make me go through the process? If I am planning to file a PR to Canada for that purpose, will the UAE Embassy issue me the PCC with a clear record or? Kindly advise.

Q: I was a resident of Dubai around 10 years back, and during that time I had some credit card balances which I am paying monthly. Not in every month. I want to settle the debt, but before starting a negotiation with the bank I would like to know if there is a police case against me. Is it a good idea to try and apply for the police good conduct certificate? If there is any case, how will the certificate look like? Will I get the case details on the certificate or no certificate at all? Also, during that time I did not have any Emirates ID. Can I apply even without the Emirates ID?

This Law promulgates the Federal Penal Code (Criminal Law) of the United Arab Emirates. Crimes and chastisement punishments shall be determined in accordance with the provisions of this Law and other penal codes.
