Will the contracts drafted in English be admissible in the courts of the UAE?

Hello,

Will the contracts drafted in English be admissible in the courts of the UAE?

Or one must only draft a contract in Arabic?

Dear questioner,

The contract should be translated into Arabic to be acceptable before the court.

But we can sign the agreement that's in English, and if disputed, we can later get it translated before submitting it in court?

Yup.

Dear questioner,

Any other language documents, to present to the court, you have to provide the legal translation.

If you need a good offer for the translation or the court procedures, kindly contact us via email.

Dear questioner,

Please note that the approved language under the UAE federal law is Arabic, and therefore translated copies of the contract should be presented before the courts, the translation should be done through a sworn translator and should be stamped by the translator stamp.

Other than the federal courts, it will be accepted in English but a special clause for the jurisdiction and competent court must be added; courts like DIFC approve the English language and the UK laws.
