How to settle a case with the bank after defaulting on payment due to COVID-19

0
Q: Hi
I hope someone can help me with a solution to this current situation.
I borrowed a personal loan of AED 260,000 from a bank. I already paid 24 months instalments. In the month of April 2020, I lost my job due to COVID-19 and the bank has given me a 3 months payment holiday.
However, my employer has cancelled my visa and I had to fly back to my home country.
I have informed the bank about my current situation and even requested them to grant me a few months of payment holiday until I can find a new job.
Also, I have other credit card liabilities I wasn't able to pay consistently since I am having financial issues.
Recently, I found that the bank has presented my cheque for AED 260,000/- and it got bounced. Now, there is an active criminal case against me for my personal loan.
Currently, I am unemployed and also I have very little savings left. Even If I get a job in the UAE in future, can I travel to the UAE?
Please advise me on how I can resolve this issue.

How can I get back to the UAE after I lost job and got overdue payments?
1
Q: I’m an Indian from Kerala. Due to the job loss and after getting in to fake company job, I’m forced to quit the UAE.
After that, my dues prolonged and I was not in a position to get back to the UAE without clearing my dues.
For the past 5 years I was totally collapsing and no good movement in my life and career. I want to come back for employment visa as I got an offer also.
Before entering the UAE, my police case has to be revoked which is in Albarsha police station and don’t have enough money for paying dues also.
My credit card outstanding is AED 17800 with a bank. Request your guidance and advice to settle my dues with small amount and revoke my police case before my visa gets stamped.
Thanks
S.

I left the UAE with a pending credit card. How to check possible cases or travel ban?

0
Q: Hello Sir.
I used to work in the UAE for around more than 20 years until 2010, since I lost my job I left Dubai in the same year.
I had a credit card from a bank and when I left, there was a very small amount that I had to pay to the bank.
I still continued to pay whatever I could even after coming back to my country, I was unemployed though. After a few months, the bank stopped communicating with me.
I also came to know the particular bank I dealt with had been sold to another company.
Since I would like to visit Dubai, I like to know if there is any ban on me to enter the country. How can I know?
Thank you.

I lost my job and left the UAE where I can no longer pay my bank loan. Can I come back?

1
Q: I have a bank loan and due to the loss of my job, I was unable to pay and currently out of the UAE.
I have a few questions if someone please would be kind enough to guide me on them:
"The bank has not filed the case yet".
1. The bank is asking me to pay the minimum 10% of the outstanding, I wish to know if this is a legal requirement or if I can pay any amount as a down payment in court.
2. Since has not filed the case my rating is bad on AECB, so will the police arrest me based on my rating, or does the case has to be filed first?
3. If I am arrested, will I be presented before the judge and can I offer to start paying installments or do I have to pay the downpayment?
Kindly, do guide me on these and if I can get a good attorney so that I can hire the attorney to help me settle things with the bank.

If someone has a case in the UAE, can they travel to another GCC country? 0
Hi.
One of my friends joined a Telegram group. They said, "We will transfer some amount to your account, and your task is to transfer this amount to another account. Once the task is completed, you will get 30 or 50 AED per task."
He completed 3 to 4 tasks, but he realized it was not good, so he stopped. After one week, when he opened his account, it was blocked, and the bank said, "We are conducting an investigation; after this, we will let you know."
After some days, he had an accident and went to his home country. He then received a call from a landline number, which was from the Abu Dhabi police station.
They said, "We have received a complaint against you; come to our investigation department." However, due to his surgery and treatment, he could not go.
After some time, his bank account was reopened, and he did not receive any further calls. I want to know, if he comes back to the UAE or goes to any other GCC country, will he face any problems?
If someone has a case in the UAE, can they travel to another GCC country?
Please advise!

How can we locate a person with an ongoing legal case? 0
Hello,
I am seeking your legal advice regarding a friend who was previously imprisoned in Abu Dhabi. His case there is now closed, but he has another ongoing case in Dubai.
Currently, we have lost contact with him and are unsure of his whereabouts. How can we check where he is or access any other legal facility?
Are there legal procedures to locate a person with an ongoing case?
What steps should we take to get more information about his status and legal position?
