Labor rights of an employee who was made redundant after completing 6 months
My first day was 3 Oct 2021. On Friday 1 March 2022, I was informed by my manager verbally that they have made my position redundant and HR will get back to me.
Today is Monday, however, they did not give me any written notice until today 4 April 2022 and now my six months are already complete.
As per the new labor law 2022, may I ask for the below:
1. 1-month salary for the notice period
2. 3-month salary towards arbitrary termination
3. Salary-in lieu of leaves
4. Air ticket to home
5. Gratuity.

Hi R.,
1. You are entitled to receive a notice period salary.
2. No, as per the new labor law redundancy is a valid reason for termination. Hence compensation for arbitrary dismissal is not applicable in your case.
3. Annual leave - if you have completed six months, 2 days per completed month.
4. if you are going back to your country, the employer shall provide you with repatriation expenses.
5. Gratuity is applicable only when the employee completes a one-year continuous working period.
