How to act against abusive husband and retrieve the passport from him?

Hi,

My sister and her husband live in AUD. He was abusive and took all her gold and documents. They have a kid and she is pregnant as well.

She called the police who took her to the station and then she moved to another relative's house. The police said they can't help as there are no bruises and it's a family court issue.

She has no document of her or her kid. What is the best course of action?

She does not want to live with her husband for the time being and wants to travel to her parents.

If she doesn't want to go to her husband, she needs to approach the family court and tell them everything and then file for divorce and claim for maintenance of her and her kids from her husband.

If she leaves without filing a case in family court, her husband might put a case on her that she left him and he is entitled to a divorce.

Thanks.

Can you guide us on the lawyer fees for this, or she doesn't need a lawyer at this stage?

At this stage, you don't need a lawyer.

Once your complaint is filed at the counselor, then you will need a lawyer if it is not settled at the counseling center.

At that time, you can contact me on the phone.

Hello,

This is a family case.

The case must be registered in the court and not within the jurisdiction of the police, and this is our area of competence.

We can help and provide support in obtaining papers, passports, money and dues, and the cost of this case is twenty thousand dirhams.

If desired, please reach us by email.
